AUST-SHIMADZU Research & Development Center is a research facility as well as a training center for Shimadzu customers and users in the field of chromatography and spectroscopy for the Middle East and African countries. It is located at the American University of Science and Technology in Beirut – Lebanon. One feature is that Shimadzu users will have a unique opportunity to have on hand training on various chromatography as well as Spectroscopy equipment.

q    Each training will cover the following:

1-    Basic theory and concept of chromatography or spectroscopy

2-    Software and operation of the equipment

3-    Hardware training and troubleshooting

4-    Customized method development including application training and sample pretreatment.

The training will be given by highly qualified and experienced specialists in a manner that each Shimadzu customer will try the equipment him/herself. There will be in each standard training one day that covers all the theoretical information and the rest will be practical on hand training which will permit the user to inject extracted samples, manipulate data and create an end report.

1-    GCs with various detectors

2-    GC/MS with EI,CI, NCI & DI modes

3-    LC with various detectors

4-    LC for high throughput

5-    LC/MS with both Electro-spray and APCI modes

6-    Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy

7-    UV – visible spectrophotometer

In conclusion, the objective of this center is to furnish the user with all the possible tools for a complete training, not only on the equipment operation, but on the application itself as well as data interpretation.
